We love shopping at Shaws..prices are better than other grocery stores..great fresh fruit and vegetables
They have good sales. That's all the good I can say about them. Half the time something is rung wrong on my receipt and when I complain, all they do to make it right is to give me the money that I overspent--at hannaford, you get the item free plus a dollar if they scan it wrong. Also, the sale flyer might say "general mills cereal 2/$4" but you have to examine the shelf carefully because only certain flavors are that price. The produce quality is horrible. I once bought strawberries, put them in the fridge as soon as I arrived home (a 5 minute drive) and went to go eat some a few hours later and they were moldy.
Great grocery store with quality produce and an excellent fresh meat and fish counter. Their Halibut was superb all summer long 2017.
I went to pay for 5 cartons of cigarettes separate from another person, my mother, who was shopping with me, who also wanted 5 for herself and who was in another line paying for her own separately. Just because I asked a question about the type of cartons (for my aunt) to my mother in the other line Shaw's didn't allow my mother to get hers...I can understand the 5 limit rule if we were paying together, but we weren't. And the person at the register gave us an attitude about it saying "clearly they are together".
This Shaws store is terrible,....meat prices high, and you stand in line for awhile only two or three registers open,...and no one usually to bag groceries, and if they do they don't know how to bag, really!,...hope Market Basket/Demoulas gets here soon,...they will put this store and Hannaford out of business
